Pyongyang Times Raportoi Koreoiden Välisistä Keskusteluista
Maiden edustajat tapasivat toisensa keskustelujen merkeissä tammikuun 9. päivänä Panmunjom'issa.
Kim Jong Un mainitsi uudenvuodenpuheessaan, että maiden välisiä neuvotteluja tultaisiin pitämään jo lähitulevaisuudessa. (Kim Jong Un'in uudenvuodenpuhe 2018)
Pohjoisen delegaatiota johti Pohjois-Korean Rauhanomaisen Uudelleenyhdistymisen Komitean puheenjohtaja Ri Son Gwon ja etelän delegaatiota johti Etelä-Korean Yhdistymisministeri Jo Myon Gyun.
Osapuolet keskustelivat vilpittömästi 23:n talviolympialaisten yhteydessä nousevista periaatteellisista kysymyksistä sekä maiden välisten suhteiden parantamisesta ylipäätään ja julkaisivat yhteisen lehdistötiedotteen.
Osapuolet sopivat pyrkivänsä tekemään voitavansa olympialaisten onnistumiseksi ja tällä tavalla edistävänsä maailman silmissä Korean kansallista arvovaltaa.
Sovittiin, että pohjoinen lähettää olympialaisiin ryhmän, joka koostuu korkean tason delegaatiosta, kilpailijoista, taiteilijoista, taekwondisteista sekä toimittajista, ja etelä tarjoaa näille ylläpidon.
Osapuolet sopivat pyrkivänsä yhteisillä toimenpiteillä sotilaallisen jännityksen lieventämiseen Korean niemimaalla ja edistävänsä kansallista sopua ja yhtenäisyyttä.
Lisäksi sovittiin monenpuolisten kontaktien ja yhteistyön sekä matkailun ja vaihdon kasvattamisesta.
Koreoiden välisistä yhteisistä julistuksista päätettiin pitää kiinni ja ratkaista kaikki bilateraalisia suhteita koskevat ongelmat neuvottelujen ja keskustelujen avulla Oman Kansamme Toimesta -hengessä.
Osana tätä päätettiin jatkaa korkean tason ja eri osa-alueiden keskusteluja tulevaisuudessa.
Amid the great expectation and interest of all Koreans at home and abroad, high-level talks were held between the DPRK and south Korea at the House of Peace in the south side’s area of Panmunjom on January 9.
Present there were a north delegation headed by Ri Son Gwon, chairman of the DPRK Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country, and a south delegation headed by Jo Myong Gyun, minister of Unification of south Korea.
Both sides sincerely discussed the principled matters arising in successfully opening the 23rd Winter Olympic Games in south Korea and improving the inter-Korean relationship, and adopted the following joint press release:
Inter-Korean high-level talks were held at Panmunjom on January 9.
Both sides reached agreement after an earnest discussion of the matters concerning the participation of the north side’s delegation in the 23rd Winter Olympics and Paralympics and the improvement of inter-Korean relations as desired and expected by the fellow countrymen.
The north and the south have agreed to work together to ensure the successful opening of the 23rd Winter Olympics and Paralympics in south Korea so that the events would serve as a good occasion for demonstrating the national prestige.
In this regard, the north side is to dispatch a high-level delegation and a contingent of personnel including a National Olympic Committee delegation, players, boosters, artistes, Taekwon-Do practitioners and pressmen, and the south side is to offer convenience to them.
Both sides agreed to hold working-level talks to discuss the dispatch of the north side’s advance group for field survey and the north side’s participation in the Winter Olympics and to decide their schedules in such a way as to exchange documents.
The north and the south agreed to make concerted efforts to defuse military tension, create a peaceful environment on the Korean peninsula and promote national reconciliation and unity.
They shared the views on the need to ease the current military tension and decided to arrange talks between military authorities to this end.
They agreed to revitalize multilateral contact, travel, exchange and cooperation so as to promote national reconciliation and unity.
They also agreed to respect the inter-Korean declarations and resolve all the issues arising in the bilateral relationship on the principle of By Our Nation Itself and through dialogue and negotiations.
As part of the effort, they will hold high-level and different sectoral talks in a bid to improve relations.
