Itä-Aasian Mestaruuden Voittaneet Pohjois-Korean Naisjalkapalloilijat Palaavat Kotiin

Pohjois-Korean naisten jalkapallojoukkue palasi kotiin 19. joulukuuta voitettuaan Itä-Aasian mestaruuden Japanissa 8.-16. joulukuuta pidetyssä lopputurnauksessa.

Tämä oli joukkueen kolmas perättäinen mestaruus; Pohjois-Korea voitti Itä-Aasian mestaruuden myös 2013 ja 2015.

Joukkueen tulokset turnauksessa:

Kiina -- Pohjois-Korea 0-2
Pohjois-Korea -- Etelä-Korea 1-0
Japani -- Pohjois-Korea 0-2

Pohjois-Korean pelaajista Kim Yun Mi oli turnauksen paras maalintekijä ja valittiin turnauksen parhaaksi pelaajaksi, Kim Nam Hui valittiin turnauksen parhaaksi puolustajaksi ja Kim Myong Sun valittiin turnauksen parhaaksi maalivahdiksi.

Pyongyangin lentokentällä pelaajia ja valmentajia olivat vastassa tervehtimässä Korean työväenpuolueen keskuskomitean varapuheenjohtaja ja kansallisen urheilunohjauskomission puheenjohtaja Choe Hwi, varapääministeri ja KDKT:n jalkapalloliiton puheenjohtaja Ri Ryong Nam, urheiluministeri Kim Il Guk sekä muita asiaankuuluvia virkamiehiä.

Urheilunystävät ja perheenjäsenet kukittivat pelaajat ja valmentajat kukkaseppelein.

Pelaajat ja valmentajat kävivät Mansu-kukkulalla laskemassa kukkia Presidentti Kim Il Sung'in ja Johtaja Kim Jong Il'in patsaiden juurelle ja osoittivat heille kunniaa.

DPRK Women Footballers Back Home

The DPRK women footballers returned home on Dec. 19 after winning the title of the 2017 EAFF E-1 Football Championship.
They defeated the teams of China, south Korea and Japan in the championship held in Japan on Dec. 8-16 and thus won the third straight championships along with victories in the championships in 2013 and 2015.
Kim Yun Mi of the DPRK was awarded the best player and top scorer and Kim Nam Hui the top defender and Kim Myong Sun the top goalkeeper in the championship.
The DPRK players and their coaches were greeted at Pyongyang International Airport by Choe Hwi, vice-chairman of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea who is chairman of the National Sports Guidance Committee, Ri Ryong Nam, vice-premier of the Cabinet who is chairman of the DPRK Football Association, and Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, and officials concerned.
Sportspersons and families warmly congratulated the players and coaches with garlands and flowers.
The players and their coaches visited the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill and laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statues before paying tribute to the great leaders.

DPRK three-peats at EAFF E-1 championship

 Women footballers and coaching staff are welcomed at their triumphant return from the 2017 EAFF E-1 Football Championship.
The women’s national team has lifted the trophy at the 2017 EAFF E-1 Football Championship, which started in Japan on December 8.
It thrashed out China 2-0 and south Korea 1-0 before clashing with Japan on December 15.
The Korean players went offensive from the beginning, putting continuous pressure on the Japanese by securing the midfield and trying bold shots and breakthroughs from the wings.
Forward Kim Yun Mi opened the scoring in the 65th minute, followed by midfielder Ri Hyang Sim in the 82nd minute.
The game ended 2-0 in victory for the Korean side, and the victory means its third straight win at the event following 2013 and 2015.
Kim Yun Mi scooped two awards as the best player and top scorer, Kim Nam Hui claimed the best defender award, and Kim Myong Sun was nominated as the best goalkeeper.
Such a success has brought great delight to the Korean people, inspiring them to work harder to build a thriving socialist nation in high spirits rallied around the Party single-mindedly.
The players and coaches returned home on December 19.
They were warmly welcomed at Pyongyang International Airport by Choe Hwi, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Vice-Premier Ri Ryong Nam who also chairs the DPRK Football Association, Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, and other relevant officials.
Fellow athletes and family members garlanded them with flowers in a hearty welcome.
